Connex education has a brilliant opportunity for a passionate, experienced special needs teaching assistant to work in a hearing impairment unit within a mainstream school. This role is working one to one with a secondary aged student who is deaf to help with her educational development. It is vital that the successful teacher works towards the outcomes outlined in the student’s educational health and care plan (EHCP) while creating an engaging and supportive work environment.
Location: Ward End
Placement Type: Long term / Permanent
Working hours: 8:30 – 15:30
Start date: ASAP
– QTS / QTLS
– BSL Level 2 Minimum
– Experience with Usher syndrome (Preferred)
– Makaton training (Preferred)
– Up to date Safeguarding certificate (To be completed through Connex Education Partnership)
– An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one
