Connex education is currently looking for an exceptional special needs teacher to work with a vulnerable student with social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) on a long-term basis. Due to the nature of this student we will be hiring an experienced teacher who has had recent experience working with these specific needs, ideally working in a special needs school within the last 12 months. This student is working at a KS2 curriculum level therefore working within this age group is essential.
The parents are very keen on sessions taking place within the house and creating a routine with structure to help the progress of this young person. You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging lesson plans suited to the needs and interests of this student.
You will be required to do:
– Build an excellent rapport with both the pupils and their families
– De-escalate sometimes challenging situations
– Create a calm and positive learning environment
– Assist with the development and implementation of the educational health care plan (EHCP)
– Complete a home tuition report after sessions that outlines progress of the student

– QTS or QTLS
– Minimum 6 months experience teaching within a special school
– Driving license (Preferred)
– TEAM TEACH Certificate (Preferred)
– An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one
